NYC man caught stealing $5,000 of electronics from Target

Port Chester police say Target security saw the man in the store Wednesday, trying to remove electronics from a display - and recognized him as the suspect who stole $5000 in electronic equipment on Tuesday.

A New York City man has been arrested for stealing thousands of dollars worth of electronics from the Target in Port Chester.
Port Chester police say Target security saw the man in the store Wednesday, trying to remove electronics from a display - and recognized him as the suspect who stole $5000 in electronic equipment on Tuesday.
After realizing that he was being watched, the suspect attempted to flee the store. When confronted by police officers, he began to fight and ran away.
With the help of Rye police, officers located the suspect in the wooded area behind the Target store, and he was taken into custody without further incident.
The 31-year-old man was charged with grand larceny in the third and resisting arrest.
He was also wanted by NYPD for a robbery where a firearm was used in the commission of the crime.
