Jonathan Harris pleaded guilty for breaking into his wife's Wallkill home in July 2022 despite an order of protection.
Investigators say when she tried to call police, Harris knocked the phone out of her hands and stabbed her in the chest.
Harris was an active corrections officer for New York City.
Harris is now sentenced to five years of post-release supervision.
