Officials say three out of five operating rooms at the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center are open again.
The rooms were shut down for four months after black particles were found falling from air conditioning vents at the medical center.
Congressman Steve Israel says the wait has been too long and the medical center needs to be back fully operational for veterans.
The aging medical center is the only VA hospital on Long Island and it has been battling maintenance problems for years.
Congressman Lee Zeldin is on the veteran affairs committee and says there needs to be a way to improve health care facilities that help veterans.
