North Castle police are urging residents to take precautions after two vehicles were stolen from driveways within the town over the weekend.
The department emphasizes that both stolen cars were unlocked, with the keys left inside. Residents are reminded to always take their keys with them and ensure that all windows and doors are closed and locked when leaving their vehicles unattended.
According to police, most reports of stolen vehicles involve unlocked cars with the key fob inside. They advise residents to park in well-lit areas whenever possible and to refrain from leaving any valuables inside their vehicles, especially if they are visible from the window.
If anyone observes suspicious behavior around cars in their neighborhood, North Castle police urge them to contact authorities immediately.
