Yonkers police arrested a New Jersey man for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl.
Thirty-three-year-old Flabio Gonzalez-Garcia, of Jersey City, New Jersey, was discovered Tuesday by a neighbor having sex with a 12-year-old girl in a minivan on Upland Avenue, the victim's father said. The father says he later discovered that Gonzalez-Garcia began talking with his daughter at her bus stop in September as he made deliveries to nearby delis.
Police said Gonzalez-Garcia claimed he didn't know the girl's age.
The girl's father, who requested anonymity, believes otherwise. "This guy is lying now, saying that he didn't know that she was this young," he said. "He's lying because he picked her up at the bus stop."
Gonzalez-Garcia is charged with felony rape. He is being held without bail and, if convicted, faces five to 25 years in prison.
