A newly developed fentanyl vaccine out of the University of Houston is being called a potential game changer in the battle against opioid deaths.
Antibodies in the shot will keep fentanyl from passing into the brain, which means the person can't get high from it.
The next steps are to get FDA approval and then begin clinical trials.
Also being developed are testing kits which can detect if other drugs are laced with fentanyl.
