If you've been frustrated flying out of Newark airport, a new customer satisfaction study shows you're not alone.
The study was conducted from July 2024 through July 2025 during all the delays and cancellations at EWR from the reported staffing shortages, old technology and equipment failures.
It's J.D Power's 20th year for this North America Airport Satisfaction Study. They look at the ease of traveling through the airport, level of trust, terminal facilities, airport staff, departure and arrival experience along with food, beverage and retail.
Newark Liberty is listed under Mega Airports, those with 33 million or more passengers per year.

Based on a 1,000-point scale, Newark got 565.
JD Powers says their key finds in many airports continue to see a record number of passengers and local food choices inside make a big difference.
They say those that had perfect experience spent more money in the terminal and at mega airports there are longer wait times and more crowding.
