New York congressional members say they are safe as chaos continued ensued in the Capitol on Wednesday.

Video from earlier shows protesters scaling the Capitol walls to stop the Electoral College count.

Before the chaos, Congress was in the process of certifying President-elect Joe Biden's win -- debating after Republicans objected to Arizona's votes.

Since then, newly elected Rep. Mondaire Jones tweeted to call for President Donald Trump's second impeachment.  He added, "I could not have imagined a darker day for democracy."

Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney tweeted out a picture as he was trapped on the floor when violence broke out.

He says, "We will return to the House floor as soon as the building is secured and finish the job given to us by the constitution."

Southern Westchester's new congressman, Rep. Jamaal Bowman, said he and his team are safe, tweeting "What we are seeing right now is fascism, fueled by white supremacy—the logical extension of our failure to reconcile our history."

Rep. Antonio Delgado also said he was safe and added, "The president must halt his baseless campaign to undermine the election outcome. We cannot let those who seek to destroy the promise of our nation triumph."

Multiple lawmakers representing New York are calling for Congress to impeach the president once again. It is not yet known if that will happen in the president's final days in office.
