The New Rochelle branch of the NAACP is calling for action tonight after the police-involved shooting death of Kamal Flowers.
Members of that group are calling on the governor to appoint the state attorney general as special prosecutor.
The community held a news conference on the steps of New Rochelle City Hall calling on Gov. Andrew Cuomo to appoint Attorney General Letitia James to investigate the police-involved deadly shooting of Flowers, who was 24 years old.
New Rochelle police released videos from businesses surrounding the areas the night of the fatal police-involved shooting.

Police say Flowers was the passenger of a vehicle pulled over near Potter Avenue and Pierce Street.
They say Flowers ran off once the car stopped. Officers then chased him and after a struggle, they say Flowers pulled a 9 mm pistol at the officer who then fired six times killing him.
Police say Flowers and the driver of the vehicle were stopped because officers witnessed several illegal traffic maneuvers.
Flowers' family and community members say there are still too many unanswered questions.
"If they were stopped and there was no reason to stop them other than they were two black males, then we see what the systemic racism problem is in this country, and it played out here and it played out to the unfortunate end of somebody dying," says Richard St. Baul, the family attorney for Flowers.
The Westchester District Attorney's Office is now leading the investigation.
New Rochelle PBA officials say they are confident the investigation will conclude the officers acted within the parameters of the law.
The two officers involved are on administrative leave.
Police are not releasing their names because of safety concerns.
