Nurses at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital are planning to strike due to what they say are unsafe working conditions.
They say they don't have the safest personal protective equipment.
Nurses also allege that they don't have enough PPE and are understaffed.
The New York State Nurses Association has filed a complaint with the Occupation Safety and Health Administration.
The potential strike comes as coronavirus cases continue to rise in New Rochelle.
"We're not overrun yet," says Kathy Santoiemma. "But we know that there will be a big surge in the next couple of weeks."
The nurses union is currently in contract negotiations with the hospital.
In a statement, the hospital says it follow local, state and national guideline for patients and staff.
They added that: "The real risk for our community comes from the NYSNA leadership and their threatened strike."
The strike is scheduled for 7 a.m. Tuesday.
