Judiciary members joined Holocaust survivors and their family members Thursday to remember the 6 million people killed.

The event, which was held at the Rockland County Courthouse, was part of the nation's annual 'day of remembrance.'

Many in attendance shared their stories about the Holocaust and how the experience changed their lives forever. The first of seven candles was lit in memory of the 6 million Jews killed during that tragic time. Everyone spoke about how it's important that the legal system continue fighting injustices, especially with the recent rise of anti-Semitism, so that another Holocaust never happens again.

Judiciary members at the ceremony said they'd continue to do their best to make sure the law prevails so they can keep hate out of Rockland County.
