A new affordable housing complex in Yonkers is promising a new lease on life for tenants in a once-dilapidated section of the city.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Monday for the Grant Park Two affordable housing complex, the fourth and final phase in the revitalization of Mulford Gardens, which was once the city's largest public housing project.
Grant Park Two boasts 56 townhouse-style apartments. Each is equipped with a washer and dryer.
The complex also offers a community clubhouse, computer center and gym.
Tenants of the new housing complex must meet income eligibility requirements for the one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.
All of the apartments are already leased, but a wait list is available.
