People are dumping their trash on a Yonkers street and some residents say they have had enough.
Furniture, mattresses and garbage are being left and ignored on Waverly Place.
Resident Sam Riti has lived in the area for 71 years and says he just wants the place to look clean.
"All of this garbage people are dumping here and it’s not fair to the DPW workers that they have to come here and pick up and pick up," said Riti.
City officials say that the issue is becoming a financial strain.
"The city is in a financial strap and the resources and the revenue that this costs to repeatedly clean up dumping grounds not only here on Herriet on Waverly Street, on Riverdale Avenue, on Mclean Avenue, there's a financial strain," said Michael Khader, president of the City Council.
He says that he will call on colleagues to increase the fines for dumpers and have better enforcement.
The Department of Public Works tells News 12 that it will continue to clean up as fast as it can. However, enforcing dumping laws is a police issue.
