Eleven families celebrated National Adoption Day by formally adopting their children at Westchester Family Court.
It was an emotional Friday as the adoptions were finalized, with some parents crying as they officially adopted their children.
"We've been waiting such a long time for this day to actually be here," says Lori Gest, who was with her husband Jeff as they finalized the adoption of their 5-month-old son, Robert.
There are 70 children in Westchester who are looking to be adopted by loving families. Anyone interested is asked to contact the United Way by dialing 211.
