New murals in downtown White Plains were painted by young residents of the Winbrook Public Housing Complex.
News 12 is told the art is meant to highlight social justice and promote community building.
"We've been using the arts to help and heal on creating public art projects for 30 years and some more now than ever,” says Jessica Cioffoletti of Arts Westchester. “Kids, adults, everyone needs to use the arch to really heal during this time."
Board Chair of the White Plains Housing Authority Eric Eller says, "Giving the community and residence here an opportunity to express themselves and come together in a collaborative effort to help beautify and bring a positive message."
According to Arts Westchester, the murals will remain up for the next 15 to 18 months.
