It was a dangerous afternoon and evening on the roads in the Hudson Valley Saturday.
On the Saw Mill Parkway, a Westchester County police officer directing traffic at a minor accident near Lawrence Street and Ashford in Dobbs Ferry was struck by a car and transported to the hospital. The incident occurred around 5 p.m.
Investigators say that officer was conscious and alert.
About an hour earlier, the weather was blamed for a head-on collision involving a police officer at Park Lane and Route 202 in Somers. That officer was also rushed to the hospital. His condition was not immediately known.
Authorities say motorist should take it slow on the roads and always be mindful of law enforcement assisting drivers.
