Family and friends, along with dozens of firefighters from all over Rockland County, gathered to say goodbye to one of their own today.
Clarkstown Chief Fire inspector Vincent Narciso was laid to rest at Saint Paul's Church in Congers. The 57-year-old family man died Wednesday morning of a heart attack.
Narciso devoted his life to serving his community, spending decades in the Valley Cottage and Rockland Lake fire departments where he served as chief and assistant chief.
His friends say one of the things that made him so special was his love of community and the fact that he would do anything to help people in need.
Narciso leaves behind his mother, his wife of 31 years, two daughters and two grandchildren. Family members are asking that donations be made to their favorite charity, the Wounded Warrior Project.
