The
Mount Vernon Violent Crime Unit says that it has taken two guns off the street
this weekend.
In a
post on their Facebook page, officials say that on Saturday, Sgt. King, Detective
Ludwicki and Officer Dimperio apprehended an armed suspect that attempted to
flee from them. They say a firearm was recovered.
The post also says that they
remain committed to keeping Mount Vernon safe.
In a separate Facebook post, the unit says
that while working in
partnership with the Westchester County Police Department, they also
took another gun off the streets, thanks to
Detective Hylton, Officer Dimperio, WCPD detectives Fox
and Lee.
No other information has been released on
the two incidents.
