    Mount Vernon to officially open track and skate park at Memorial Field

    Mount Vernon city officials are encouraging people to take advantage of what the stadium has to offer to help get healthy.

    If you are already giving up on your New Year's resolution to be more active, tomorrow you will have a new opportunity to get on your feet in Mount Vernon.
    If you are looking for a place to take advantage of the mild winter weather, and get some outdoor exercise, then Memorial Field is the place to do it.
    Mount Vernon city officials are encouraging people to take advantage of what the stadium has to offer to help get healthy.
    Starting Saturday, the track will be open for folks to come and run or walk, and the new skate park is opening as well.
    The stadium was finally reopened back in September after being shut down for 12 years due to disrepair.
    Westchester County took over the $33 million renovation project that created a stadium that seats nearly 4,000 people and accommodates various sports and events.
    Beginning tomorrow, the track will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. then 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week - except when events are being held.
    And the skate park will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 a.m. every day, weather permitting.
