A Mount Vernon man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for a deadly shooting.

The Westchester District Attorney's Office says 34-year-old Heyward Bradshaw pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Officials say Bradshaw had a dispute with the victim - whom he knew - inside a bodega in March 2022.

It spilled outside, and Bradshaw chased 41-year-old Kwasi Kirton, of Mount Vernon, on East Third Street and shot at him nine times - hitting him seven times.

The incident was captured on surveillance.

Kirton was pronounced dead at Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital.

Bradshaw fled to Connecticut before being arrested two days later in the Bronx.
