A Mount Vernon man was back in court Wednesday, weeks after an appeals court overturned Selwyn Days' double murder conviction
Selwyn Days has been tried four times for the double murder of Eastchester millionaire Archie Harris and Harris' home health care aide, Betty Ramcharan.
Two of Days' trials ended in hung juries, and he also has had two convictions overturned.
Days and his attorney are still claiming his innocence. "Imagine all of the birthdays, Christmases and Thanksgivings that he missed for a crime that he, and us, firmly believe he didn't commit," says Days' lawyer, Roberto Finzi.
A jury convicted him in the latest trial back in 2011, but that decision was overturned. The Westchester District Attorney's Office is trying to appeal the latest court ruling and keep Days behind bars for good.
Bail has been set at $1 million.
