Mount Vernon fire headquarters renamed

Mount Vernon's fire headquarters has been renamed after the department's late commissioner as a tribute to his service. James Gleason served as the city's fire commissioner for more than a decade.

Mount Vernon's fire headquarters has been renamed after the department's late commissioner as a tribute to his service.
James Gleason served as the city's fire commissioner for more than a decade.
The mayor commended Gleason's service to fire prevention and education Wednesday and presented his family with a proclamation dedicating the fire headquarters on Lincoln Avenue in his name.
Gleason died of lung cancer last year.
He was 77 years old.
