Mount Vernon Schools are pleading with parents to be more engaged in their children's education.
The district held its first call to action webinar Monday night to launch new specialized instruction.
The district showed data from a beginning of the year assessment that revealed some students are two or more grade levels behind where they should be.
Administrators hope beefing up their use of online learning platform, Iready will help catch kids up.
The district is asking parents to make sure over winter break, kids commit to about 30 minutes of learning each day.
There are other ways parents can get involved, too.
