More wet and wild weather is expected throughout the Hudson Valley today and tomorrow.
News 12 Meteorologist Brysen Van Eck says thunderstorms will cross the region through tomorrow afternoon. Van Eck says many of the storms will bring heavy downpours and intense lightning. A flash flood watch is in effect until Friday morning.
The storms are forcing many communities to rethink their fireworks displays. The town of Haverstraw has canceled tonight's fireworks show and has rescheduled for Saturday at Bowline Point Park.
The good news is that Hurricane Arthur, with wind speeds up to 80 mph, is not expected to affect the region directly. Van Eck, however, warns that anyone going to the ocean beaches be aware that the storm is creating strong riptides and heavy surf.
