A student is in custody following a fight at Middletown High School that left another student slashed in the face.

The incident occurred Monday afternoon, police said. Authorities believe the suspect used a razor blade to cut the victim.

The injured student was hospitalized, but the extent of their injuries remains unclear.

School officials have launched an investigation and increased police presence on campus.
