Lawmakers hope they will get answers from Con Ed at a public meeting Monday about massive power failures across Westchester and the Hudson Valley.
Legislator Tom Abinanti (D-Westchester) says it?s unacceptable that residents lose power after most storms, like January?s blizzard. Abinanti feels Con Ed should reinforce its infrastructure to avoid future problems and hopes that the meeting will be more productive than past ones. Thousands of residents lost electricity during a heat wave this month following a series of severe wind and rainfall, which downed power lines. Con Ed officials defend their response, saying they called in dozens of crews and worked overtime.
Monday?s meeting is at the county office building in White Plains at 3 p.m. Con Ed representatives plan to attend.
