Department of Public Works crews in Yonkers were at the scene of a water main break Friday on Ritchie Drive.
According to a release from Mayor Mike Spano, the break affected 21 homes in the area. Water service was been turned off to those homes and is expected to return by Monday.
The Office of Emergency Management notified the affected homeowners and provided them with bottled water.
Traffic on Ritchie Drive remains closed from Wendover Road to Marshall Road while work continues on the main. Residents will still be able to access their homes along the roadway.
DWP officials estimate the cost of repairs to be about $25,000.
