A five-alarm fire engulfed two industrial buildings, and forced hundreds of evacuations in Connecticut Thursday night.
Fire officials say the fire was first reported just before 7 p.m. in Bridgeport.
More than a dozen fire and rescue departments from surrounding towns were called to help.
Officials tell News 12 that barrels of perfume exploded in one of the buildings, complicating the fire. The building is a perfume recycling company.
About 400 residents were evacuated.
Officials say three people were treated for smoke inhalation, including two firefighters. They are expected to be OK.
The U.S. Coast Guard conducted an overflight of the Long Island Sound to determine the extent of the runoff from the firefighting water and the factories. As a result of the fire, fishing has been prohibited temporarily in the Bridgeport Harbor and Long Island Sound from Norwalk to Milford.
The state will continue to sample the water as investigators search through the rubble for the cause of the fire.
