The Mario Cuomo Bridge will be illuminated in blue and white on Friday, July 7, in honor of the elementary school students who named four peregrine falcon chicks recently hatched atop the span.

The chicks, named Jet, Beakonce, Estrella, and Taylor Swoop, were selected through a unique naming contest organized by Bedford Hills Elementary School. Students submitted over 100 name suggestions, and judges narrowed the field down to the top ten. The public then voted for their favorite names, ultimately selecting the winning quartet.

The bridge will be lit in blue and white, the colors of the peregrine falcon, starting at dusk on Friday.
