A man has been appointed as an honorable Yonkers police officer.
Pat Quinn, 36, says he always strived to be in law enforcement until his diagnosis with Lou Gehrig's disease, also known as ALS, in 2013.
On Thursday, a number of sergeants, lieutenants and captains, along with the Yonkers mayor and policer commissioner, swore Quinn in as an honorary police officer.
The town also honored Quinn by making Thursday Police Officer Pat Quinn Day in Yonkers.
