Police say they responded to shots fired on Mansion Street around 9:40 p.m.
Upon arrival officers found a 40-year-old Poughkeepsie resident with a single gunshot wound to his torso.
Mobile Life Support Services and the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department treated the victim at the scene.
He has since been transported to a hospital where his injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
