A pedestrian was hospitalized in critical condition after being hit by a car early Saturday morning in Yonkers.
Officials say a 26-year-old man was hit at around 4:20 a.m. on Yonkers Avenue near Wasylenko Lane. He was found lying in the street unconscious by Westchester County police.
Police say the man was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx for injuries to his skull.
Yonkers Avenue was closed in both directions for several hours, from Midland Avenue to the Saw Mill River Parkway, following the incident. The roadway has since reopened.
Police say the driver who struck the man remained at the scene. There is no word on whether that driver will face any charges.
