A Dutchess County jury has convicted a man of attempted arson.
The District Attorney said 69-year-old Lorgio Hernandez-Quevedo was found guilty of trying to set fire to a Poughkeepsie apartment building at 2 Rose Street.
Prosecutors said he was caught on surveillance video pouring gasoline down the stairs and trying to use a lighter to set it ablaze while people were still inside.
The incident happened in April 2025.
Quevedo was the superintendent of the building.
He is set to be sentenced in July.
