Police tell News 12 that Cristian Moya, 28, has been arrested and charged in the death of 35-year-old Pamela Almonte Cabrera outside of Mama Dora Bar and Lounge early Sunday morning.
According to sources, Moya, who lives less than a mile from the lounge, was previously arrested twice this year - once for stealing a cellphone and another time for selling drugs, in two separate incidents.
Police say that Almonte Cabrera was stabbed multiple times in the chest and killed just after 4 a.m. Monday, when sources say a fight started just after Mama Dora was closing.
Video obtained by News 12 shows a man in a yellow jacket yelling and then slashing and stabbing Almonte Cabrera.
Investigators say surveillance video and witness statements aided in their efforts to track down Moya three days after the death.
Her boyfriend tells News 12 that the man disrespected her, which led to the fight. She leaves behind two sons in the Dominican Republic, and a daughter in New York.
Services are planned for Sunday in the Bronx.
