Police say the incident happen at a home along Route 202 a week ago.
A witness told police a Carmel man and woman were trying to get into a garage.
When police arrived, they found the suspects by the front door, with the garage door wide open. They believe the suspects were trying to get into the home to steal the family's belongings.
The suspects have both been charged with burglary.
