A Croton man is facing charges after police say he dumped tons of trash in Yonkers.
Stephen Palmiotto appeared in Yonkers City Court yesterday.
He is accused of illegally dumping 44,000 pounds of garbage in the parking lot known as Chicken Island in the middle of the night over the Christmas holiday weekend.
Palimiotto is the owner of TMI Industries, a private sanitation and garbage removal company.
He faces a year in prison if convicted.
