Mamaroneck Library says it needs $1.4 million loan to stay open after ‘financial irregularities’
The Mamaroneck Library says it needs a $1.4 million loan to meet its payroll and financial obligations over the next year.
It comes just a month after the Board of Trustees were made aware of financial irregularities and alleged business official was accused of theft.
Village trustees are now discussing if they have the ability to help.
The library, which was voted the county's best library in 2022 by Westchester Magazine, would have to close on June 1 if it doesn't receive an infusion.
