Jonathan Schneider, the president of the School Board in Mahopac Central School District, has resigned.
Board members did not say why he chose to leave but say they're thankful for his service.
“We thank Trustee Schneider for his service and dedication during his time on the Board. His contributions have been valued and his commitment to the District will not be forgotten,” the board of education said in a statement.
Fernando Martinez, the vice president of the board, will become acting president. The board plans to speak about their options for the role in their next meeting.
