Customers who shopped at Macy?s in Westchester and the Hudson Valley the Saturday before Christmas may have been charged twice because of a computer glitch, according to a company spokesperson.
The malfunction affected shoppers who made purchases with their debit cards between 1:00 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. on Dec. 20 in Macy?s stores throughout the region, and also in several other states in the central and eastern parts of the country.
A Macy?s representative says the company has since corrected the problem and contacted the banks of customers who were accidentally double billed.
People who believe they were overcharged are urged to obtain a copy of their bank statement and contact Macy's.
