There was a celebration at West Point as the US Military Academy held its 220th graduation ceremony Saturday.

The cadets threw up their hats as the ceremony concluded and they officially became graduates of the prestigious military academy.

The moment was especially exciting for two graduates of Hendrick Hudson in Montrose who have been best friends since elementary school.

News 12 had previously profiled Jack O'Brien and Mike Gabrielsen as the two star javelin throwers prepared to become teammates at West Point.

The two credit one another for helping them get through their four years at West Point.

"It's just crazy how long we've known each other," O'Brien said. "It's this really cool bond."

Both men are now headed to become helicopter pilots in Alabama.
