A group of local students are making sure kids have books to read.

The literacy nonprofit Pages for Hope includes students from Archbishop Stepinac High School and other schools. They collect and donate books to local schools, hospitals and other locations.

The group recently collected more than 10,000 books for students in Paraguay and Colombia. The goal is to give them more opportunities and help develop their English.

Pages for Hope President Diego Cabanillas says reading helps people find meaning and connect with their community. The group hopes to expand its membership and impact to other local schools.
