Local activists are speaking out against Sen. Chuck Schumer and his decision to oppose the controversial nuclear deal with Iran.
Protesters voiced their disapproval outside Schumer's Peekskill office yesterday.
New York's senior senator has said the deal with Tehran is flawed and that the U.S. should try to negotiate a better agreement.
But protesters, like President Obama, believe the deal is the best chance toward a diplomatic solution with Iran.
"We think this deal has been carefully thought out, that no one who is against it is proposing a realistic alternative. Isn't it time to give diplomacy a chance here?" says Priscilla Read, of the group Jewish Voice for Peace.
Congress has until Sept. 17 to vote on the deal that was struck in July.
