Westchester County legislative aide Gary Kriss was arrested and charged with four counts of theft Monday after allegedly ordering another county employee to work on graphics for his book.
Neither Kriss nor his attorney had any comment following his appearance in White Plains City Court, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Kriss is also under investigation for allegedly using a Westchester County credit card to make thousands of dollars in personal purchases. His lawyer says he refuses to pay back any of the money, and a letter sent to the Westchester County Board of Legislators indicates Kriss will not cooperate with a county investigation of the allegations.
A special committee will meet Monday to discuss whether or not Kriss will be terminated from his job.
