The kids of Ossining took on Ossining police officers in a friendly match of kickball Thursday.
Police Chief Kevin Sylvester says the goal of the game was to build a relationship with the community. The game took place at Nelson Park and, according to people there, everyone had a blast.
"Our best opportunity to make connections in the community is through the kids, let them know that we are at to be trusted, we are community helpers and not somebody to be afraid of," Sylvester says.
Sylvester says the department plans on organizing similar events all summer. The department already has a huge following on social media.
As far as who won the game, well it was all about having fun and making connections rather than racking up points.
