Enhanced passenger screening for signs of the Ebola virus has begun at JFK International Airport in New York.

Passengers arriving from West Africa will have their temperatures taken with no-touch thermometers. They will also be required to fill out a questionnaire from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention upon landing.

Authorities say the additional measures, coupled with the screening that's already done in originating countries, will add another layer of precaution to help fight the Ebola outbreak.

The added precautions come as the World Health Organization announced Friday that more than 4,000 people have died in West African nations from the viral outbreak.

The enhanced screening measures are also being implemented at Newark and Atlanta airports, plus Dulles Airport in Virginia and O'Hare Airport in Chicago.
