Gov. Andrew Cuomo is calling for more coronavirus testing in schools that fall in Orange and Rockland County's yellow zones.
The governor's announcement came after three Jewish congregation in Rockland County filed a federal lawsuit against the state and Cuomo.
An attorney for yeshivas in the area says the state's restrictions are a violation of First Amendment rights.
"A scalpel was used to draw red lines around Orthodox synagogues and communities and ignore other hotspots where there is the same or even high levels of infections," says Ronald Coleman.
Schools in the yellow zone are not required to close, but are being monitored closely.
