Orange County Health Commissioner Dr. Irina Gelman says physicians are reporting cases where Kiryas Joel residents with coronavirus symptoms are now refusing to get tested.

Gelman says she's notified the state and PAUSE task force adding, "I have asked the State to require doctors to report the daily number of patients with clinical presentation of symptoms who decline COVID testing. The data is only valid when it is accurately reported and if people are being tested."

The county Health Department has also extended orders to close some Kiryas Joel schools until further notice.
