The leftover snow and ice from the weekend caused a school bus in Yonkers to get stranded on a local road Monday morning.
The bus filled with children headed to School 32 was stranded along Pembrook Road for more than an hour. Officials say the driver couldn?t maneuver on the slippery road and had to wait for help.
The Department of Public Works sent a truck with salt to help get the bus out. According to the head of the department, the salters were out at 5 a.m. Monday near the school buildings, but the cold temperatures made the salt ineffective.
