The northbound Hutchinson River Parkway has reopened in Mount Vernon after an Army truck hit an overpass.
Police say the truck, going northbound, hit the East Third Street overpass at around 1:45 p.m. It was part of a three-vehicle convoy from Fort Totten in Queens.
Around 40 Army personnel got out of the bus in front of the truck after the accident to help pick up crates containing ammunition and food rations. No one was injured in the accident.
It is illegal for any trucks to travel on the region's parkways. It is not known if any charges will be filed against the truck driver.
