Hundreds of people participated in a 5K charity run in Pleasantville on Saturday morning.
The fifth annual Tina 5K Run was held in honor of Tina Gambino, who died unexpectedly in November 2004.
Gambino's mother, Janice, said Tina's life was an example for others to follow.
"She was an athlete, she believed in community and this is everything she stands for," Janice said.
More than 500 participants ran in the event. The money raised from the event goes toward scholarships started by Gambino's babysitter for Pleasantville students.
